Resources to nurture a love of English

Weird Britain writing tasks includes a selection of quirky customs tied to writing tasks. You could let your students choose a task, or select one appropriate to your teaching topic to work on together. Why not research local festivities while you’re at it and spark some cultural interest?

If you’re teaching sentence variety and want to add something cute and fluffy, then Varying your sentences – with kittens is what you’re looking for. The resource includes a matching activity and a PowerPoint with pictures of kittens.

For this year’s World Book Day, we added Ideas for World Book Day, a resource packed with inspiration for promoting independent reading. With strong research ties between reading for pleasure and educational performance, as well as improved wellbeing, there’s always time to play book Pictionary, write flash fiction or roll the story dice.
