Resources for the end of term

Sculpture inspired creative writing is fun and flexible, and great for filling in the gaps between sports days and summer visits. It includes a series of tasks such as looking at images of sculptures, junk modelling and descriptive or narrative writing opportunities.

Recently published and so far, so popular, Whodunnit? The murder at Muchley Manor takes a light-hearted romp through a fictional crime drama where students solve grammatical conundrums, codes and riddles – as well as the murder case. It’s a comprehensive PowerPoint for a one-off or end of term treat.

Budding word gurus, style ninjas or big ideas connectors in your class? For a fresh approach to a class text, Reading circle roles gets students to present chapters in teams. Great for boosting confidence and engagement in literature at this distracting time of year!

If you’re planning for September, don’t miss our Transition area for your newbies, including letter writing tasks, name learning tips, ice-breakers and units to ease year 7 into secondary English.
