Review this resourceI also use the lists produced by Christopher Booker to compare/contrast plots. I produced this for work with a drama group when a member of staff was sick and I knew that I didn't know enough about ancient Greek Tragedy!
It has come up now and again in English - particularly when someone mentions that something is very similar to another story. (For all you young people out there - that was what teaching used to be like - when someone raised a point you could disappear down a byway that was not on the syllabus!)

I use this in my high school Film Studies class....I have applied this to The Terminator 1 and 2 and now to Star Trek....I use the Hero's Journey as a guide to the Film Studies curriculum....
