Poetry terms audit

A great self-assessment activity which is suitable for KS5 students but could be used with KS4. Students check through and colour-code key poetic terms based on their understanding and confidence in using the terms using a BRAG or RAG rating.

The terms include: 

• poetic structure and form (couplet, tercet, quatrain, sestet etc.)
• imagery (simile, metaphor, symbol, personification, pathetic fallacy etc.)
• sound (metre, sibilance, onomatopoeia etc.)
