A lovely creative, descriptive or imaginative writing impetus to develop students' vocabulary. Students are given a series of pictures and word banks to expand and a range of short writing tasks. This is a versatile resource useful for all abilities.

 

An extract from the resource: 

Circle three or four details on the picture. Write a quick plan to decide on the order of the details and then write a description of the picture.

OR

Imagine the stories and conversations of the people on the truck. Start a piece of narrative writing based on these stories; try and include some brief dialogue in your writing.

You could use some of these sentence starters in your writing:

  • Perfectly loaded with people and cargo, the truck …
  • Waiting patiently, the exhausted workers suffered under the heat …
  • Suddenly there was a commotion …
