Shout out for Shakespeare!

Should Shakespeare remain on the curriculum? Students explore the starts of two student responses to this question, considering how persuasive techniques are used. They also plan their own written response.

Sample content

  1. Which student has a more convincing opening and why?
  2. Highlight and annotate any persuasive features you notice. How else could you begin a response to this question? 
  3. What advice would you give to one of the students? Choose one, and let them know how they could begin their response more effectively.
  4. Now use the table below to plan your own response to the question: Should Shakespeare remain on the curriculum?
