An introduction to Alexander Pope

An accessible lesson for students looking at Alexander Pope for the first time. Students start off by reading some witty epigrams, then go on to study 'Solitude: an ode'. They finish by writing their own 'Odes' in a similar vein to Pope's. This would be a useful addition to a unit of work on 17th century poetry or as part of a scheme on poetry through the ages.
