Words and pictures

Some poems seem to cry out for illustration and I feel the unfurling poem is one of them.  We'll see what we can do.

In the meantime, I'm thinking about wheelbarrows...

All this time and only one small change?  That's how it is sometimes.

I wonder if you can spot it.

I would like

my words

to unfurl

like a flag

like a fern

like a scroll

unrolling

so as the later words

are seen

so the early ones

depart

returning

to the whorls

of yellow paper

Not waving but unfurling

Still playing around with this...

I would like

my words

to unfurl

like a flag

like a fern

like a scroll

unrolling

so the later words

are seen

so the early ones

depart

returning

to the whorls

of yellow paper

Something totally different

I haven't finished with the app rap but if I archive it I won't be able to edit it. So it stays there for the moment.

In the meantime...

looking at a flag waving in a light wind I thought:

I would like / my words / to unfurl

like a flag / like a fern

like a scroll / unrolling and / as the later words / are seen

so the early one depart / return / to the whorls of yellow paper

- or something like that.  I love the words unfurl and whorl.  How often can you use them?

App Rap

I’m checking messages

I’m on the phone

Cos when you’ve one of these

You’re never alone

I may need to tweet

I may need to text

Just hang on love

Really, you’ll be next

If you want to be in touch

Just send a text – is that too much?

I’m interested in things you say and do

Yes – I really care. I want to be with you

It’s just that somewhere else is calling

Something else just as enthralling

If you want to be in touch

Just send a text – is that too much?

I put the I in iphone
We put the we in tweet
Sorry I can’t give you my attention
There’s a personal deadline I’ve to meet

Oh…  There’s a friend I need to greet

Sorry that I kept you waiting
My Facebook page needed updating

Sure you’re OK LOL

You’ve lost connection, oh well….

If you want to be in touch

Just send a text – is that too much?

Some lines I’m keeping in store….

It’s an Android it’s an iPhone

It’s a high phone it’s a lie phone it’s my phone

My thumbs developed extra muscles power
So I can scroll... while I stroll...

I'm with you but not really here - is what I feel sums it up but I'm not sure where to put the line.

I wonder if this could be a chorus?

If you want to be in touch

Just send a text – is that too much?

And need to add - somewhere -

I may need to tweet or text

Keep up with what's coming next

Sure you're ok? LOL

Did you speak...what?...oh, well....

Time to put all the lines on a big sheet of paper and push them around...

Just doodling here...

No, I’m interested in things you say and do

Yes – I really care. I want to be with you

It’s just that somewhere else is calling

Something else just as enthralling

If you want to be in touch

A few more lines came to me.  The 'I' in iPhone seems to sum up the self-absorbed nature of some people when they're with their mobile devices.

I put the I in iphone
We put the we in tweet
Sorry I can’t give you my attention
There’s a personal deadline I’ve to meet  friend I need to greet

Then there are the new skills:
My thumbs developed extra muscles power
So I can scroll... while I stroll...

and then on to the lines I had earlier:

Sorry that I kept you waiting
My Facebook page deeded updating
I’m with you but not really here
Something may have happened in the last half hour
I need to know or have a view about

I've started jotting down thoughts and feelings about the ubiquitous mobile devices in (almost) everyone's hands and ears....

I’m here but not here

I’m on the phone I’m checking messages

Something may have happened in the last half hour

I need to know about have a view about

I may need to tweet or text

My Facebook page requires updating

…waiting

No I really do care – want to be with you

I’m interested in the things you say and do

It’s just that somewhere else is calling

-- - - - - -

Something else just as enthralling
