Putting away Xmas

Sunday, 19 January 2014 15:14:10

Coiled: tinsel, tree light cables

Removed: batteries from lights, wreaths from doors

Recycled: cards, wrapping paper, some bits of string

Sorted: baubles, balls and stars

Stored: a golden bird, a quilted tree surround from Nova Scotia, games played and unplayed

Boxed: memories

Dumped: Poinsettia

Forgotten: the present for Aunt Emily

Remaining: candles, goodwill

I know I like the concrete but I feel this really could do with a dose of the intangibles to liven it up.

For example, stored: season’s greetings; forgotten: goodwill (a bit too cynical perhaps?) but it’s an idea. Or the goodwill could be placed under ‘remaining’.
