O Phone

Monday, 1 July 2019 16:34:08

Moved some lines around.  Just for the rhythm and for that one rhyme in each stanza.

today O phone
you sit in your cradle
idle
while I wait impatiently
for your trill
but you sit silent unmoving
still

yesterday
you were impertinent
importunate
you interrupted
like a child
your bladishments
drove me wild

tomorrow
you will be my servant
relay my messages
where I wish
you will carry my voice
unimpeded

for once
you will have no choice
