Narrative hooks
Read, analyse and annotate the opening of Stave 1, 'A Christmas Carol'. Useful for encouraging close textual analysis and honing students' de-coding skills. This resource is also versatile enough to be used out of context, as part of a creative writing activity at KS3 or KS4. Parts of the resource are shaded in colour which makes the annotation process easier for the students. However, the activity is still viable when printed/copied in black and white.
