Features of informal and personal writing

  1. Use mainly co-ordinating connectives.
  1. It is appropriate to use contracted forms with an apostrophe.
  1. Sentence punctuation creates a conversational quality and exclamation marks, dashes and ellipses may be used.
  1. Everyday phrasal verbs (verbs made up of more than one word) are common.
  1. First person and second person pronouns make the writing personal to reader and writer.
