'Door into a magical world' creative writing task

I used it with my Year 10 class and encouraged them to be as imaginative as possible. I wnated to see lots of descriptions and thenuse of figurative language in their finished task. I did not want it if possible, to be the typical 'save the world' drama that so many adolescents think is cool.

The children in my class loved this activity - once they started thinking about the portal stories they read, they had plenty of ideas!
